Auditor Oversight Committee

Ross Buckley, Chair

Ross Buckley commenced his professional governance career in October 2020 after retiring from KPMG where he was executive Chair of the New Zealand firm from 2011 to 2020. Ross joined KPMG in Wellington in 1983 and held a variety of roles in New Zealand and overseas including board member of KPMG Asia Pacific and a member of KPMG’s Global Council.

Ross is an independent director of ASB Bank, chairs the Bank’s Audit Committee and is a member of ASB’s Appointment and Remuneration and Risk and Compliance Committees. Ross is also an independent director of Stride Properties and independent chair of Service Foods. Ross is a member of Institute of Directors National Council and chairs the Auckland
branch. Ross also chairs the advisory board of Massey University’s College
of Business.

Ross has a BBS (Massey University) and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant
(FCA), Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) and a Chartered
Member of the IOD.

Chris Gordon, LLB Hons

Chris is a lawyer and commercial adviser with over 30 years’ experience practising in New Zealand and the USA.  For most of that time, he has specialised in corporate and commercial law, including advising boards of directors and company management on governance and compliance matters. 

Chris is a former partner and Chair of Bell Gully.  He now has his own consultancy and continues to provide strategic advice to companies, particularly in relation to major projects and acquisitions.  Chris is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and is a member of the Risk and Assurance Committee of Te Papa Atawhai / Department of Conservation.

Keren Blakey

Keren has commenced a professional governance career in 2025 after retiring  from PwC where she was PricewaterhouseCoopers New Zealand Chair (2020-2024), a PwC Asia Pacific Board member and Partner. Keren was on the Board of Governors of Diocesan School for Girls and Audit & Risk Committee Chair (2017-2021).

Keren’s professional services career is grounded in over 30 years audit and assurance experience locally and overseas across a broad range of sectors and through various economic cycles. Keren’s clients included large scale listed local and trans-tasman groups, private entities, private equity and charitable groups.

Keren is currently a trustee (alumni) on the University of Auckland Foundation.

Keren is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and was awarded Fellowship status by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Steven Fyfe, BCA, CA, CMInstD

Steven has 30 years’ experience in the accountancy and banking industries in New Zealand and offshore, including as CFO and executive director at The National Bank. Since 2011 Steven has been a company director of a wide range of commercial, public sector and community organisations.

Misha Pieters

Misha is responsible for heading the team that supports the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board in its role of developing and issuing auditing and assurance standards. Misha has been with the XRB since its inception in 2011, and has recently completed a secondment to the International Ethics Standards Board of Accountants. She has extensive prior audit and accounting advisory experience in the for profit sector.

Nives Botica Redmayne, PhD, MSc, BSc, AFAANZ, CA ANZ

Nives is the academic member of the AOC. She is an Associate Professor at Massey University School of Accountancy. Her main area of research and expertise is assurance, in particular the economics production and regulation of assurance services. She is the immediate past CAANZ President. She is also a member of the External Reporting Board (XRB) – New Zealand Accounting Standards Board (NZASB).

Greg SchollumGreg Schollum

Greg is a member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board,
having recently completed a 7½ year term as the Deputy Controller and Auditor General. Greg began his audit career as a graduate with Deloitte and he has spent the majority of his professional career in an audit role, in both the public and private sectors. Greg also has extensive standard setting experience, both in New Zealand and overseas.
