If you have a question that can’t be answered by our website or have a question about our work or wish to request an OIA, please do so here.

Raise a concern

Report an investment scam or raise a concern about business or industry behaviour that doesn’t seem appropriate or if you believe an individual or business has failed to comply with one of the laws we enforce. If you are a business or organization that is licenced by the FMA and would like to self-report an incident or issue, please do so here.

Make a complaint

You can make a complaint anonymously or on the record about a business or person you believe has breached consumer or competitive law, if you believe a Company has misrepresented the law by providing misleading information in their disclosure documents or if you suspect a lowball offer or have or witnessed illegal investment offers or investment schemes. You can make a complaint about the FMA or an investigation that is being conducted by the FMA. You may make a protected disclosure (whistleblowing) about serious wrongdoing by or in the organization you work for.

Apply for a licence

Before applying for a licence, please ensure you’ve registered on the FSPR and have a RealMe account. These are requirements ahead of making an application to the FMA.

Submit a regulatory or scheme return

We will advise you ahead of time when regulatory returns are due for AML/CFT, Managed Investment Schemes, Crowd Funding, Peer to Peer, DIMS, Derivative Issuers, Financial Advice Providers and KiwiSaver Annual Statistical Returns.

Notify an operational resilience incident

Some regulated entities are required to notify the FMA of any event that materially impacts the operational resilience of their critical technology systems. This includes an event that materially disrupts or affects the provision of the entity’s market service.
