    FMA sets target dates for FAP full licence applications

    The FMA has set 30 September 2022 as the “target date” by when all transitional financial advice providers should apply for their Class 1 or Class 2 full licences. For Class 3 licence applicants, the target date is 30 June 2022.

    FMA publishes NZX Obligations annual review 2020

    NZX met its statutory obligations as a licensed market operator for the period 1 January to 31 December 2019, according to the Financial Markets Authority (FMA)’s annual review. The NZX General Obligations Review, published by the FMA today, found that NZX complied with its market operator obligations during the review period.     Over 1 million New Zealanders have more than $15 billion invested in conservative or default KiwiSaver funds, mostly invested in fixed-interest assets, including bonds. However, only four in ten KiwiSaver members surveyed by the FMA knew that most funds invest in bonds.

    Declaration Fit and Proper - Audit firms

    To comply with section 26(1)(d) of the Act the Firm must meet the minimum standards for audit firms set out in Auditor Regulation Act (Prescribed Minimum Standards and Conditions for Licensed Auditors and Registered Audit Firms) Notice 2012 (‘the prescribed minimum standards’) prescribed by FMA pursuant to section 32 (1) (g) of the Act. Clause 8(1)(c) of the prescribed minimum standards requires that all of the Firm’s partners must be fit and proper persons as assessed by FMA.
    This declaration provides evidence of the steps taken by the firm and the partner who signs this declaration to identify any relevant information and confirms the correctness and completeness of information provided.
